``Skipper: I have just heard that our Volcano Laertes, has started to erupt again. ``Captain: That has been dormant for years. ``Jarry: Does anyone live over there? ``Dalbir: It is purely desert out there, and even the few people who monitor the place do not stay for long. ``Kirin: Leila says it is worse than Siberia in reverse, although we are thousands of kilometres away. ``Dalbir: Roughly 6,000 Km, on the East Coast. ``Captain: How bad is it? ``Skipper: Not sure, but we should shortly have an update coming through, as long as their transmitter is still working. ``Dalbir: They could get swallowed up as well, if they get too near.

{Kirin’s Place + Ming ~ 2}
``Ming: How come you had been on both trips to Algol, and I have been stuck on the other Saucer? ``Kirin: You do go on like a spoilt brat at times. ``Ming: Cheeky, and I do not. ``Kirin: Zola is the complete opposite to you! ``Ming: She is only my half sister. ``Kirin: Oh, that explains a lot of things about you. ``Ming: Cheeky. ``Kirin: Anyway, just let it go, will you?! The changes are happening, and we are having the Vulcan so you can be hostess on that ship, with monthly runs to Algol. ``Ming: So we will be on the same ship? ``Kirin: Zaa, but the Upper deck is off limits even to you. ``Ming: I will have to put up with that one. ``Kirin: Neither would the Captain ever agree to it, so do not even think about it. ``Ming: So when is she coming in? ``Kirin: Soon, but we may have to take the crew home as well, unless they bring another ship with them, but that has not yet been decided. ``Ming: That is different. ``Kirin: Therefore the Captain is deciding to do another trip to Earth, and you are unlikely to be on that one. ``Ming: Oh, heck.

``Systems: This an interesting project, but how is it going to be funded? ``Qualla: We thought that we could give you a yearly license, so you can have the rights to distribute data. ``Systems: Excellent idea. Are you willing to expand on this? ``Vanna: You erect us a 10 metre dish for Algol and Cepheus and they will do the same, and we get free access in return for a license fee of ¢50,000 per year, which gives you complete rights. ``Leila: This means all the TV channels will also come though you, both ways. ``Systems: This is a major expansion program for us, if my committee agrees, but I am initially in favour. ``Gera: We will also have to run it past the Oligarchy for approval as at the moment, it is a hypothetical proposition. ``Systems: How soon? ``Gera: Now. ``Systems: Okay, I will jump on it. ``Vanna: In the meantime we are having some trouble getting the linkup working with Hobbs City, and I need to know what I am doing wrong. ``Systems: Okay, I will look into it. ``Vanna: And I will need a twin pair of cables. ``Systems: Okay, I will get it set up. Zaffre for this offer, and I will officially get back to you shortly. ``Zola: We are going to see Network 10, and they could be, your first customer. ``Systems: Zarfs. They do use our services, so it will become a bonus. Zimo.

``Zola: Initially I have come to book the interview. ``Presenter: I have allocated a spot for tomorrow if that is okay. ``Zola: Certus. ``Presenter: But why are you all here? ``Qualla: We have an agreement with Algol to exchange all transmissions, and as you already use the services of the Relay Company, we like to offer you first refusal for the rights to distribute their TV network. ``Presenter: Blimey that is a big offer which is a real rarity, and I say zaa. However, it will have to go to the board for approval. ``Vanna: You will have to comply to our standards, which are much higher specifications than normal levels. ``Leila: Naturally we have free access. ``Gera: We will also have to run it past the Oligarchy for approval, as at the moment it is a hypothetical proposition. ``Leila: Can you get an answer, before Zola goes live tomorrow? ``Presenter: Certus.
